Okay, so I wasn't planning on blogging tonight cause it's Sunday and all I really felt like was a plate of steamed veggies and some Quinoa and a boatload of Lolo's Cheese Sauce. So I had to take a photo anyway because, well, this is SUPPOSED to be a food blog and I swear, this cheese sauce is so good I could drink it straight from the saucepan!
And why couldn't I wait to blog? Because of this:
WOO HOO! Now, ladies and gentlemens, I have been eyeing off an icecream maker ever since I found this blog: Ice Cream Paradise . I tried the basic Vanilla ice cream of hers but didn't have the ice cream maker and it came out like a massive ice crystal despite about 50 beatings so I hungered for a maker (not that I NEEDED one but you know).

Anyway given that the only decent one I could find here that did ice cream and not soft serve and wasn't a billion dollars was still $50 I was too much of a cheapskate to fork out the cash for one given that I wasn't sure just how much use I'd get out of it. But I kept finding the most tempting ice cream recipes everywhere!!

Anyway, I'll stop waffling, today I head into K-Mart to get myself a stanley knife and a a lamp and they're having a sale on their gimmick stuff like ice cream makers and hot dogs. In the past they've never carried the one I was eyeing off before, just the soft serve one so I wasn't even going to bother looking. But something compelled me to and lo and behold they had the one I was after. But only one. And in true K-Mart style it was sitting on the shelf all on it's lonesome without a price tag to be seen on it, or the shelf...or any of the shelves surrounding it.

So off I head to the self checker where it scans at an amazing $4 (AUD). I laughed it was so funny that they could stuff up a $40 price label and make it $4 and was going to stick it back on the shelf but decided for some unknown reason to ask the girl at the front help desk. So she scans it for me and double checks and says "yeah, it's $4" "$4!!!!!!" I say, "uh huh" she says " it's probably not something we're going to stock anymore or something and the people who mark stuff down get lazy and can't be bothered so they just mark it cheap". (WOO HOO! I am thinking).

So before she changes her mind I head off to the checkout and walk away with my brand spanking new $4 ice cream maker (YAYYY!) Just had to share the joy (and make all of you jealous as anything!) So be ready, there may just be an ice cream photo or 2 showing up on here before too much longer (but don't worry, there will still be food, after all, there's already an awesome blog dedicated solely to delicious ice cream!)
